Sukkot in Israel without sleeping or Sukkot in Chul
We have a student who wants to go into the land of Israel on Sukkoth, but he will not be able to sleep in Sukka because he will have no own Sukka. If he does not go, he still will not sleep in the Sukka, as it is very cold at night here. What it is better for him to go or not? Trip to Sukkot to the Land of Israel can give a hizuk.
It is permissible for him to go to Israel for Sukkos. In either location he will be exempt from sleeping in the sukkah, either because of the cold or inability to build a sukkah.
In fact in Israel there is also a good chance he will be be able to find some arrangement to sleep in a sukka, as there are many sukkot throughout the country.
